Bunkaya Zakkaten: An amazing shop selling happiness

She is Kingman, a sales of Bunkaya Zakkaten in Tsim Sha Tsui. Bunkaya Zakkaten is a shop from Japan and it sells many unexpected things. Actually, how does it work?

Kingman talked about her experience from a supporter of this shop to one of the sales. Her passion brings her a cheerful work experience as well as the knowledge about this shop.

“Bunkaya Zakkaten was orginally founded in Japan and the owner of Hong Kong branches was deeply impreesed by Bunkaya Zakkaten in Japan. So he opened this shop.” Kingman said.

Although she only has worked for a month, Kingman still can talked a lot about this shop. She told the differences between the branches in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. Also, she is still amazed by the interesting items in this shop.

As the shop sells unexpected products, so it can attract different customers. Kingman also told an experience of an elderly who came to visit this shop.

As well as a supporter of this shop, Kingman sometimes is a producer of the items.  She shared her experience of making a hairpin by herself and was sold quickly.

In the interview, you can find that Bunkaya Zakkaten is a special shop and it brings happiness to customers, Kingman as well as the shop owners themselves.

HKBU-SOPA Award Winners Forum

 The forum aim to enhance the standard of journalism education in Hong Kong. It took place at Oct 13 in Hong Kong Baptist University. Apart from the award winners and the guests, many journalism students also attended this forum to learn more.

This year, the theme of the forum is “Framing a story – The Journalistic Challenge to Put Issues in Context”.

“Now, I try very hard in my work to weave together what i see in my daily life in Beijing.”

One of the winners, Didi Kristen Tatlow shared her opinion about working as a journalist with the audiences. When she was asked how did she choose what to write in the news, she said that journalism ables you to break away from what everyone is doing. Also, she said it is important to look into what you come across, what you observe and what happens in politics. Besides how to write, she pointed out that the biggest challenge is the freedom from fear.

He is the interviewee this time. His name is Shum Pan, Ben. An associate degree student in HKU Space and he have been studied there for two years. As a student studying in the associate degree program, the interpersonal relationship has been the most significant change in his life time. He told us that how is the change and what did he learn from this change.
